Maija is a blend of East Coast and Midwest: authentic, creative, funny, empathetic, compassionate and direct. She provides a safe, trusting, supportive space for clients to participate in therapy addressing depression, anxiety, grief and loss, life transitions, trauma, relationship challenges and negative core beliefs. Her therapeutic approach integrates holistic and clinical approaches for growth and healing.
Maija has 30 years of experience working in therapeutic settings, most recently in intensive outpatient therapy, geriatric inpatient units and hospice. She has Master's degrees in Clinical Social Work and Holistic Health Studies from the University of St. Thomas and St. Catherine University. She also worked for 12 years as a Nationally Board Certified Health Coach with local and national Fortune 500 companies.
Maija's self-care includes daily meditation, mindful movement, time with mentors, reading mysteries, spicy food, gooey brownies, laughing with loved ones, rescue dogs, and being by the Atlantic Ocean or Lake Superior.
