Independent Contract Therapist

Sara is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW) and comes to Lilium with experience working in community behavioral health. She spent the first part of her career in public affairs and finance before obtaining a Master in Social Work (MSW) from the University of Minnesota. Sara strives to meet clients where they are at and provide a nurturing and therapeutic relationship. She has experience working with children (5 years+), families, and adults. Sara is currently working toward a Masters in Addiction Studies and can also help individuals and families navigate their struggles with substance use.

Sara is down-to-earth and enjoys helping folks navigate the ups and downs of life. With a knack for understanding trauma, depression, anxiety, grief/loss, and life transitions Sara has the skills and heart to make a real difference in your journey to feeling better. When it comes to therapy, she uses an integrated approach to match client needs. You'll find a bit of cognitive-behavioral therapy, a dash of dialectical behavior therapy, a sprinkle of EMDR, and a whole lot of other trauma-focused strategies in her toolkit.

Sara isn't just about the degrees – she's about making a real impact on the community and mental health in Minnesota. She has testified before the Minnesota State Legislature and national organizations to lobby for improved access to mental health services. She is a tireless advocate for mental health and community projects to spread the word that it's okay not to be okay.

When she's not deep in the world of mental health, you'll find Sara out traveling, hiking, gardening, running, chilling with nature, and doing things that light up her world.
